This range of the quad cam engine has 4 chains, 4 tensioners, linking the oil pump, the crankshaft, the camshaft and the balance shaft together.
The chain system is located at the rear of the engine (gearbox end). The high pressure diesel pump is driven by using a toothed belt from one of the camshafts.
